In an era where we are witnessing new applications of AI, from managing daily schedules to advancing medical diagnostics, AI now steps into the role of your personal virtual trainer as Actofit and D.Y. Patil University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to bring this innovation to life.
A software jointly developed by Actofit and DY Patil University is about to launch in the coming weeks. This innovative software acts as a virtual physiotherapist, saving valuable time for patients by eliminating the need for them to travel to a physiotherapy clinic.
The software is now protected by a granted patent (Patent no. 433626), marking an industry-first milestone for Motion Tracking Technology secured by Actofit. This patent secures the innovative technology developed by Mr. Pratik Saraogi, Dr. Ateeb Shaikh, and Mr. Tushar Patil, who played pivotal roles in its creation. Their collaborative work is poised to drive significant advancements in the field of physiotherapy and wellness technology.
Dr. Unnati Pandit, Director of D.Y. Patil University, “Our collaboration with Actofit marks a pivotal moment in our mission to transform healthcare. Together, we aspire to chart a future where personalized physiotherapy and wellness reach unparalleled heights, initiating a profound shift in how healthcare is experienced and delivered.”
Offering a diverse range of 100+ exercises, this innovation is set to reshape the landscape of physiotherapy in India.
Each year, a significant 150,000 patients undergo re-surgeries because they didn’t receive proper physiotherapy. Moreover, nearly 40% of patients don’t regain full mobility after surgery due to the lack of physiotherapy. This is largely because India has only 0.59 physiotherapists for every 10,000 people.
In a $9 billion market historically reliant on conventional practices, the collaboration of Actofit and D.Y. Patil signifies the beginning of a new era in healthcare, signifying a significant change in physiotherapy and wellness.
Dr. Ateeb Shaikh, Chief Product Officer at Actofit, expressed, “Our partnership with D.Y. Patil University reflects our shared goal of making wellness and rehabilitation personal. With our expertise, we’re changing the future of physiotherapy and wellness, making it easy and effective for everyone.” “We’re bringing AI, pain management, and precise fitness goals, all from the comfort of your home,” he added.
As Actofit and D.Y. Patil University spearhead innovation in the physiotherapy landscape, they not only bring the promise of AI-driven wellness to the forefront but also the prospect of improving lives on a grand scale. Together, they look forward to a future where healthcare is not just a service but a personalized, accessible, and transformative experience.
